Job Description - Senior Business Intelligence Analyst – Ground Operations (15912)

We are looking for a dedicated and analytical professional to join our Ground Operations Performance team. This team plays a crucial role in leveraging data and analytics to enhance ease and reliability across our airports, identifying trends and insights that drive meaningful improvements in our operations.

Reporting to the Head of Ground Ops Performance, you will take ownership of Ground Operations data reporting and analysis, ensuring the provision of accurate, timely insights that influence decision-making and operational efficiency.

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, cleansing and utilising relevant data, developing visualisations of and insights into the performance of our ramp and airport operations. You will provide detailed operational reporting and deep-dive diagnostics, ensuring stakeholders have the information they need to make informed decisions.

The role will involve delivering analytics projects that improve business processes, maintaining departmental Tableau reports, and collaborating on the development of a data and analytics roadmap. You will act as a subject matter expert on departmental datasets and data products while ensuring best practices in data analytics are upheld. You will be a senior technical team member with extensive experience in data analytics, with a responsibility to help ensure that data is accurate, relevant, and easy to access, allowing for effective reporting and decision-making.

What you need to do this role

We're looking for someone with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in data and analytics, who knows how to use data to make smart business calls in fast-moving commercial settings. You should be confident leading analytics projects from start to finish, working across teams, and translating complex data into stories that land with both techies and non-techies.

You're solid with SQL and comfortable scripting in languages like Python or R. You know your way around BI tools like Tableau, Thoughtspot or PowerBI, and you're no stranger to large datasets and multivariate analysis.

Bonus points if you're proactive, self-organised, a natural team player, and you enjoy coaching others. A strong academic background in a scientific or technical field—or equivalent real-world experience—is a big plus.

Location & Hours of Work

This is a full-time 40 hour per week position. We support hybrid working and we spend three days per week in the office in Luton.
