Senior Business Development Manager - Planning, Development & Origination

Their portfolio includes 40 renewable energy assets such as natural gas-fired power, electric transmission lines, and other sustainable assets.

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to lead the planning and development of energy infrastructure projects across the UK, focusing on solar PV, BESS, wind, and natural gas opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze the UK energy market to identify new project opportunities.
• Prepare and present investment proposals.
• Lead planning activities including public consultations, applications, and compliance with UK regulations.
• Manage grid connection processes aligned with CP2030.
• Monitor UK and devolved government policies, NSIPs, and local frameworks.
• Collaborate with teams and partners for due diligence on acquisition opportunities.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and methodologies.
• Ensure project documentation compliance.
• Allocate resources to meet milestones and standards.
• Support procurement processes.
• Implement stakeholder and communication plans.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5–7+ years in energy or infrastructure, with renewable project experience in the UK.
• Proven project management skills.
• Experience with agreements like DSAs, JV, EPC contracts.
• Knowledge of UK power sector regulations and permitting.
• Understanding of solar PV, wind, and BESS technical design and costs.
• Financial analysis skills.
• Strong UK energy sector network.
