South Bank University Enterprise Ltd, the commercial arm of London South Bank University, seeks a Senior Business Development Manager (BDM) for CPD and Professional Education to join the Knowledge Exchange and Innovation team within the South Bank Innovation division (SBI). SBI manages income-generating initiatives and supports entrepreneurial activities and external engagement involving business, staff, and students.
The Senior Business Development Manager will support the Head of Knowledge Exchange and Innovation, as well as the Associate Deans for Research and Innovation, in identifying opportunities in CPD and Professional Education to meet income targets through developing open and bespoke short courses for professionals, individuals, and workforce development. You will also oversee the strategic and operational development of short course systems and enhance the university’s reputation.
This is a new role aimed at positioning LSBU as a leading provider of short courses nationally and internationally, via the branded Centre for Applied and Professional Education. The role is fixed-term for two years.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have a proven record of driving growth in the CPD and Professional Education sector, especially within the Health sector; knowledge of Greenskills and Digital sectors is advantageous. You should have a deep understanding of the market and how LSBU can capitalize on opportunities.
Your responsibilities include identifying course opportunities for individuals, delegate sales, and corporate/group sales, including managing our tailored platform for internal short courses. You should have experience in opportunity identification, client relationship management, resource planning, and proposal development, including financial planning. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to collaborate across LSBU groups to maximize opportunities.
