About the Role
The Senior Business Analyst will be a member of the Business Systems team, responsible for identifying business requirements, recommending, and documenting business and system processes within and across divisions, usually within a project team. This role will be based in our London offices on a hybrid working model.
Role Responsibilities:
- Work with globally distributed stakeholders to collect, analyze, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements to define deliverables, use cases, and test cases supporting the business benefits case.
- Develop a solid understanding of Springer Nature processes and systems, and their impact on projects.
- Play an integral role in developing use cases for testing and participate in testing to ensure system support for new business processes.
- Produce supporting materials, assist in training, and support business users during system implementation to ensure successful adoption.
- Provide project documentation and help maintain a knowledge base for all systems.
- Support the business product owner/project manager or act in that role to ensure stakeholder needs are correctly represented.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, organizing insight sessions, workshops, and demos to keep them informed of project progress.
- Take a proactive role within the Springer Nature Technology BA Community.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
Essential
- Extensive experience as a BA in a project delivery/agile environment, working with project managers, stakeholders, vendors, and internal tech resources.
- Strong analytical skills, including use case collection, requirements definition, and process mapping.
- Understanding of project management principles, both waterfall and agile.
- Ability to communicate technical opportunities to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and attention to detail skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Flexible approach and willingness to learn new systems and domains.
- Experience operating in technical and non-technical environments.
- Proactive self-starter with the ability to anticipate project needs.
Desirable
- Experience in a multi-national matrix organization.
- Knowledge of the media or publishing industry and journal publishing workflows.
- Understanding of organizational change management techniques.
- Professional BA qualification.
- Knowledge of customer engagement solutions (e.g., Salesforce), publishing solutions, SAP processes, and tools like MS Suite, MIRO, Visio.
