We are recruiting a Senior Business Analyst to join our Business Improvement team on a permanent basis. This is a hybrid role and based in our Birmingham office 1-2 days a week
The role
Reporting into the Head of Business Analysis, you will leverage your experience to assist with strategic planning, influence high-level decisions, and collaborate with senior stakeholders to drive business strategy. Your role will involve addressing complex business challenges and identifying opportunities for enhancement across processes, skills, data, and technology.
As a Senior Business Analyst within the Business Improvement team, you will engage in multiple projects, working closely with senior business and IT stakeholders to ensure solutions are practical, sustainable, and aligned with strategic goals. This role demands a broad, inclusive view of the business landscape, valuing all stakeholder perspectives in well-informed, consensus-driven recommendations.
To excel, you must gather accurate business requirements to design and deliver solutions, using effective questioning techniques. You will have experience with IT change projects and external third-party suppliers. Your expertise will assess the feasibility of changes, ensuring solutions support long-term strategy and align with the corporate plan.
This position offers the opportunity to lead impactful change, fostering a collaborative environment where diverse ideas are integrated into meaningful business outcomes. You will deliver high-quality business analysis documentation and collaborate with project managers, product owners, and stakeholders to ensure a robust approach. Additionally, you will mentor and coach business analysts, helping them develop their skills and confidence.
You will bring strong process design and re-engineering skills, including process mapping with tools like Visio. Experience with industry-standard methods and business change tools such as BPMN, Use Cases, SWOT analysis, Business Cases, Five Why's, Lean Six Sigma, and wireframes is essential. Your ability to troubleshoot problems creatively, think innovatively, and understand business drivers for change will be crucial. You will recognize key risks and issues, documenting and mitigating them effectively. Experience in delivering business analysis and IT change to achieve process improvements, cost savings, and removing waste from processes is required. You must plan effectively, work well under pressure, and deliver to deadlines, often managing multiple projects. Familiarity with project methodologies such as Prince 2, Agile, and Scrum is valuable.
