Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our IT function during a period of transformation. You will go beyond requirements gathering, work across complex initiatives, and translate business needs into evidence-based, value-driven solutions.

You will facilitate workshops, engage senior stakeholders, influence decisions and help develop our BA capability as the organisation modernises its technology landscape across UK and international client projects.

• Experience with Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery.

As a Senior Business Analyst, You Will

• Lead Business Analysis activity across complex business and technology change initiatives.
• Work with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders, to define scope, objectives and desired outcomes.
• Translate business challenges into clear, practical and value-driven solutions.
• Facilitate workshops, drive stakeholder engagement and build alignment across teams.
• Analyse current and future processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Support solution design, business readiness, testing and implementation activities.
• Provide constructive challenge, informed recommendations and evidence-based insight to support decision-making.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of Business Analysis capability across the organisation.

What we're looking for

• Strong experience applying Business Analysis tools, methodologies and techniques.
• Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery approaches.

• Experience partnering with Project Managers, Platform Owners and delivery teams to deliver successful outcomes.

Desirable

• Experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure or other asset-intensive industries.
• Knowledge of business architecture, enterprise architecture or operating model design.
• Experience using process modelling approaches such as BPMN.
• Exposure to business cases, benefits analysis and investment decision-making.
• Professional certifications such as BCS, IIBA or CBAP.
