Job summary

RIDGE SURVEYORS LIMITED in Newcastle seeks a Chartered Building Surveyor to join the team. You will lead diverse surveying instructions across commercial, residential and industrial sectors, acting as lead designer and contract administrator on refurbishment and maintenance projects.

You will prepare specifications, manage projects through all stages, undertake surveys, diagnose defects and advise on maintenance, repair and reinstatement work, while mentoring junior staff and supporting client

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering a broad range of professional and project-led building surveying services.
• Strong knowledge of building pathology, construction technology and contract administration.
• Experience managing projects and multiple client instructions simultaneously.
• Excellent report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver a variety of building surveying instructions across sectors.
• Act as lead designer and contract administrator on refurbishment and maintenance projects.
• Prepare specifications, tender documents and contract documents.
• Undertake project management and contract administration through all project stages.
• Carry out building surveys, condition surveys and defect investigations.
• Diagnose building defects and provide practical, commercially focused advice.
• Prepare schedules of dilapidations and negotiate settlements for clients.
• Undertake pre-acquisition surveys and technical due diligence.
• Provide advice on design, construction, maintenance and refurbishment.
• Supervise works on site and monitor progress, quality and compliance.
• Support and mentor junior team members and APC candidates.
• Contribute to business development and strengthen client relationships.
