Job summary

Turner Property Recruitment is partnering with a leading commercial property business to recruit a Senior Building Surveyor for their London office. You will lead refurbishment, capital works, and development projects across a diverse commercial portfolio, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.

The role requires MRICS or working towards it, strong project management and contract administration skills, and a proactive, commercially minded approach to protecting and enhancing asset value.

Qualifications

• Strong Building Surveying experience in commercial property.
• MRICS qualification or working towards/equivalent.
• Excellent project management and contract administration.
• Experience managing refurbishment and capital works.
• Strong understanding of construction technology and cost control.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations, Building Control, Planning and Party Wall.
• Ability to challenge contractors and consultants for best commercial outcomes.
• Excellent organisational skills with multiple projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead refurbishment, repair and development projects from feasibility to handover.
• Manage budgets, programmes and cashflow to meet objectives.
• Administer contracts, instructions, variations, certifications and documentation.
• Prepare tenders and oversee procurement and contractor appointments.
• Ensure compliance with Planning, Building Control, CDM and Party Wall regulations.
• Monitor risks, programme changes and cost variations with clear reporting.
• Undertake building inspections and provide refurbishment strategies.
• Support acquisitions via technical due diligence and surveys.
• Manage consultants and construction teams for accountability.
• Provide technical support to Asset Managers for investments.
• Manage tenant alterations, repairs and dilapidations.
• Maintain audit-ready project documentation throughout delivery.
