The Senior Building Surveyor Role

As the successful Senior Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering a wide variety of professional services including:

• Inspecting and advising on the design, construction, maintenance, and refurbishment of commercial buildings.
• Preparing detailed reports, schedules of works, and specifications.
• Leading refurbishment and reinstatement projects using recognised building contracts.
• Acting as Lead Consultant or Project Manager on higher-value schemes.
• Advising on and applying statutory legislation including Building Regulations, CDM 2015, the Building Safety Act, and Party Wall matters.
• Managing and negotiating dilapidations on behalf of landlords and tenants.
• Supporting and mentoring APC candidates.
• Playing an active role in business development, representing the consultancy and securing future work.
• Understanding and interpreting legal documents including leases and development agreements.

The Successful Senior Building Surveyor Will Have

Qualifications

• MRICS Accredited (Essential)
  
  

Knowledge And Experience

• A strong technical understanding of building pathology and contract administration.
• Experience working across sectors, particularly commercial properties.
• Comfortable managing complex projects and multiple stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of relevant legislation and health & safety.
• Sound report writing and negotiation skills.
• Insurance reinstatement and defect diagnosis experience (preferred).
