Job summary

BWP Building and Project Consultants invites an Associate Building Surveyor to join our Liverpool team. This hybrid role combines office, site, and remote work to deliver high-quality surveying and consultancy services across residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties.

You will conduct surveys, prepare detailed condition and defect reports, and guide clients on building safety and regulatory requirements while supporting project delivery from feasibility to completion.

Qualifications

• Strong technical building surveying skills with inspections and report writing.
• Knowledge of building safety legislation and standards (Building Safety Act 2022) and related compliance.
• Experience supporting project management, contractor coordination, and cost/design decisions.
• Excellent communication with clients and stakeholders; client-focused service.
• Progress toward or membership of RICS (AssocRICS/MRICS) or strong drive to achieve accreditation.
• Relevant degree in Building Surveying or related discipline.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and standard surveying documentation tools.
• Organised, adaptable, able to manage multiple instructions and deadlines.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally.

Role Description The Associate Building Surveyor will support a range of surveying and consultancy projects, including inspections, technical reporting, and compliance assessments for residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties. Day-to-day tasks include conducting building surveys, preparing detailed condition and defect reports, advising clients on building safety and regulatory requirements, and assisting with project delivery from feasibility to completion. The role involves collaborating with colleagues and Directors, attending site visits, contributing to design and cost advice, and supporting landlord and tenant matters such as dilapidations and schedules of condition. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Liverpool, with a mix of office, site, and work-from-home flexibility.

• Ability to work collaboratively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, demonstrating clear communication and client-focused service.
• Progress toward or membership of RICS (AssocRICS/MRICS) or a strong desire to achieve professional accreditation.
• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or a closely related discipline.
• Good IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard surveying/project documentation tools.
• Organised, adaptable, and able to manage multiple instructions and deadlines with attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the region and occasionally further afield.
