Praxis Real Estate is expanding, and this is your opportunity to play a pivotal role at the heart of one of Scotland's most iconic shopping destinations.

Following our recent acquisition of the St. Enoch Centre, we are hiring a Senior Building Surveyor to be based on-site in Glasgow. This is a landmark hire—the first Building Surveyor in our Scottish operations—and a rare opportunity to shape and influence the future of a major city centre asset from the ground up.

You'll be joining an established national team of Surveyors and Project Managers, with close collaboration across our London and Manchester offices, while enjoying the autonomy and visibility that comes with being the senior surveying lead on-site.

About the Role:

This role involves managing projects within the shopping centre, ranging from small maintenance works to major refurbishment and development projects, as well as providing building and construction advice to the internal Centre Management Team, Investment Management, and Asset Management teams on planning, refurbishment, development, and project delivery across the retail and business portfolio.

You will utilize your strong knowledge base to ensure successful project completion in a cost-effective and value-added manner, aligned with the overarching business plan.

Working Pattern: On-Site at St Enoch with occasional travel

Responsibilities:

• Planning and delivering sustainable refurbishments across our current and future portfolio
• Conducting pre-acquisition due diligence by reviewing building and M&E surveys
• Advising on refurbishment costs and managing projects within budget and timelines
• Appointing consultants, inspecting properties, and negotiating settlements for dilapidations claims
• Providing advice on building-related matters, including tenant alterations and repairs
• Directing Facilities Managers on maintenance contracts, emphasizing value-added work
• Undertaking financial appraisals and developing project management strategies
• Managing planning processes, collaborating with external consultants, and liaising with authorities
• Managing Building Warrant applications
• Planning, drafting, and implementing PPM strategies and works
• Leading project teams and ensuring statutory compliance
• Preparing and coordinating design information, administering procurement and tendering, and overseeing contract administration
• Ensuring compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
• Handling Party Wall surveys, notices, and awards
• Providing comprehensive project management, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and external input
• Instructing and reviewing site reports, supporting Asset Managers with tenant documentation
• Coordinating with internal teams for scheme handover and management
• Managing document control in accordance with PREM policy

Experience and Skills:

• Experience in building surveying within commercial property management
