Job summary

A leading consultancy firm is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor in Cardiff to manage projects and deliver excellent customer service within built asset consultancy. The role combines responsibilities from project management to contract administration. Candidates should be degree qualified in Building Surveying, with MRICS or relevant qualifications. Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Building Surveying or similar technical discipline.
• MRICS or membership of other relevant professional body.
• Proven project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage commissions and projects effectively.
• Write design specifications and conduct pre-acquisition surveys.
• Diagnose defects and manage dilapidations.
• Design & specification writing for projects.
• Pre-acquisition surveys to support decision-making.
• PPM and asset condition schedules development.
• Quality & Technical Monitoring on schemes.
• Bank/Fund monitoring and reporting.
• Defects diagnosis and remediation planning.
• Dilapidations handling and portfolio management.
• Party Wall Awards entitlements and processes.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Building Surveying or similar technical discipline
• MRICS or membership of other relevant professional body

Experience

• Project based experience
• Ability to successfully manage complex projects in a proactive and diligent manner
• Excellent specification writing skills
• Good knowledge of JCT & NEC Contracts
• Track record in project management of projects from inception to completion
• Evidence of working with multiple stakeholders
• Experience working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
• Experience of managing Assistant Building Surveyors
• Previously employed by a consultancy
