Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd. is seeking a Chartered Senior Building Surveyor in Bristol to lead complex building surveying assignments across public and private sectors.

You will manage multiple projects, mentor junior surveyors and contribute to bids, while delivering high-quality surveys, specifications and reports. Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying or another RICS-accredited degree.
• MRICS status is highly regarded and post-qualification experience is a bonus.
• Strong technical Building Surveying knowledge with a track record across projects.
• Experience managing client relationships and delivering high-quality professional service.
• Good commercial awareness including profitability and business development.
• Experience mentoring, coaching or developing junior colleagues.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, workloads and deadlines.
• Strong technical report writing and documentation skills.
• Solid understanding of Health & Safety and statutory compliance.
• Experience in dilapidations, Party Wall, fire risk or access assessments would be advantageous.
• Strong IT skills, particularly Word and Excel.
• Experience using AutoCAD and NBS; Revit experience would be an advantage.
• Willingness to travel when required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver refurbishment, improvement and modernisation projects across multiple sectors.
• Carry out building surveys, inspections and condition assessments.
• Prepare specifications, drawings, feasibility studies and client reports.
• Obtain estimates and support statutory approvals.
• Administer contracts using JCT and NEC.
• Manage regional projects and provide professional surveying advice.
• Mentor and develop junior surveyors, including those pursuing APC.
• Support business development, bids and tenders.
• Maintain high standards of QA, health & safety and environmental compliance.
• Travel as required.

A leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy organisation is continuing to grow its Bristol Building Surveying team and is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Building Surveyor.

This is a varied role offering exposure to a broad range of public and private sector projects, working alongside wider business teams. They are looking for someone who combines strong technical Building Surveying knowledge with commercial awareness, excellent client skills and a genuine interest in developing others.

What's involved?

• Delivering refurbishment, improvement and modernisation projects across multiple sectors.
• Carrying out building surveys, inspections and condition assessments.
• Preparing specifications, drawings, feasibility studies, client requirements and technical reports.
• Obtaining estimates and supporting statutory approval processes.
• Administering contracts using recognised forms including JCT and NEC.
• Managing regional projects and providing professional Building Surveying advice to clients.
• Supporting senior management with day-to-day project and team activities.
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Mentoring and supporting junior Building Surveyors, including those working towards their RICS APC.
• Line managing and developing junior members of the Building Surveying team.
• Supporting business development activity, including preparing and contributing to bids and tenders.
• Maintaining high standards across quality, health & safety and environmental requirements.
• Potentially working towards an NEC Supervisor qualification, if not already qualified.
