Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council is seeking a Senior Building Control Surveyor/Registered Building Inspector to join its Building Control Team. The role involves managing an area within the Borough, conducting plan assessments for Building Regulations, and delivering a high standard of service in a pro-active, customer‑focused environment.

The successful candidate will be registered to Class 2A or progressing through BSR, with experience in plan checks, inspections, and dealing with

Qualifications

• Registered to Class 2A as a minimum
• Member of CABE, RICS or CIOB preferred
• Full UK driving licence and daily access to a car

Responsibilities

• Carry out plan assessments for compliance with Building Regulations
• Undertake consultation with statutory bodies
• Issue decisions within statutory timescales
• Carry out site inspections
• Assess demolitions and dangerous structures
• Provide periodic out of hours cover on a rota basis
