Working in our highly innovative and motivated Building Control Team, our Senior Building Control Surveyor will be the technical lead on all Building Control matters and other allied legislation across the Borough under the overall guidance of the Building Control Manager.

You will be based in Telford town centre—a vibrant destination with places and experiences where people love to live, work, and play. Sitting in the heart of Shropshire, Telford is the gateway between the Midlands and Wales. It is rich in heritage and natural beauty, with a vibrant expanding town centre and a 450-acre town park with numerous leisure facilities.
Being part of the Development Management team will ensure you contribute to developing and creating positive, creative places for residents and workers in Telford, building a safe and sustainable environment for future generations.
This post is recognized as a highly specialized senior expert on all Building Control matters.
We seek a customer-focused candidate with proven experience in a high-quality Building Control environment, extensive knowledge of legislation and technical standards underpinning the Building Regulations, and proficiency in managing workloads under pressure with excellent negotiation skills.
As a senior team member, you will perform Building Control functions at all competency levels, including checking applications, site inspections, and enforcement procedures.
You will ensure developments meet Building Regulations and legislation, liaise with stakeholders, and develop relationships to support the service's promotion and commercial aims.
