Our immediate requirement is for an experienced Senior Broadcast Technician to be a key part of our London team, representing proAV and working onsite, owning the technical delivery, team development and operational oversight of our web-casting and virtual-studio environments. This role combines hands-on engineering, studio design, staff mentorship and stakeholder engagement at C-Suite level. This is a 12-month fixed term position.

One of many openings available at proAV (who have over 500 team members globally), this position is based within our end user’s organisation who continue to invest in state-of-the-art technologies, services, and training.

This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional, experienced Senior Broadcast Technician to join an established operation with scope to drive and enhance the service at every opportunity.

Experience and seniority of the position will be reflected by the remuneration and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Oversight & Studio Set-Up

  • Ensure all broadcast equipment—cameras, lighting rigs, audio systems and green-screen/chroma-key configurations—is designed, installed and maintained to professional standards.
  • Optimise studio layouts for diverse broadcast scenarios, including AR/XR workflows and real-time graphics.

Live Broadcast Support & Troubleshooting

  • Provide engineering support during live and recorded events, swiftly diagnosing and resolving technical issues across vMix, Blackmagic ATEM/Ultimatte, NDI Tools, Panasonic UE150 and professional audio consoles.
  • Collaborate with third-party production teams and senior stakeholders to rehearse and validate all feeds prior to transmission.
  • Liaise with post-production to ensure recorded sessions (via Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve) meet quality benchmarks and are delivered on schedule.
  • Oversee media transcoding and content packaging in standard formats (.mp4, QuickTime, streaming codecs).

Mentoring and Collaboration

  • Senior point of contact and overall ownership for mentoring and collaboration with the broadcast engineer and associated personnel.
  • Take ownership of leaning and development by leading structured training and knowledge-transfer sessions for colleagues and visiting technicians.

Ownership of Reporting

  • Assume responsibility for operational reporting, producing and distributing periodic reports on studio usage, issue logs and event summaries.
  • Adapt reporting formats and schedules in line with evolving business needs.

Inventory & Compliance

  • Maintain the broadcast suite’s compliance with site-wide SLAs through accurate inventory management and proper handover practices.
  • Coordinate with central teams on preventive maintenance and escalate any deviations.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Foster strong relationships with senior stakeholders, gathering and acting on feedback to ensure service excellence.
  • Act as the principal technical liaison for C-Suite broadcasts, upholding proAV’s reputation for professionalism and discretion.
  • Travel: Primarily across two London sites; occasional national assignments.
  • Working hours: The standard hours are a 9-hour shift between 7am-7pm, however due to the nature of the role you may be required to work flexible hours and such additional hours as necessary for the effective performance of your duties.

Person specification

  • Demonstrable broadcast-engineering expertise, including chroma-key lighting, multi-camera workflows and real-time production software.
  • Proficiency with vMix, Blackmagic ATEM/Ultimatte, NDI Tools, Panasonic UE150 and professional audio consoles.
  • Familiarity with AR/XR technologies (Unreal Engine, camera tracking), Adobe Stager, Blender and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills under pressure.
  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of advising executives and mentoring engineers.
  • Strong organisational ability, with experience managing multiple projects to tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally across the UK for high-profile events.

Hours of work

40 hours per week, 9 hours a day on a rotational shift basis between 7am-7pm, including an hour unpaid break, Monday-Friday (occasional evenings and weekends as event schedule requires).
