Your new role

To support the upgrade of IT equipment across the business, my client has an opportunity for an IT Technician to join the team and assist with the deployment of hardware across a 12-month fixed-term contract. This will include:

  • Owning and delivering the build and deployment of various IT hardware including PCs, Laptops, Mobile Phones, Tablets, Printers and Scanners.
  • Carrying out device builds, following standard build processes and carrying out robust quality control.
  • Deploying devices to sites and users – migrating users from old hardware to new, including migration of files and settings and ensuring user satisfaction – both in-person on sites across the UK and remotely.
  • Making changes to user and device configuration and group memberships using either Active Directory, Intune, Entra ID or other similar tools.
  • Supporting users’ post-migration with any queries or concerns and providing standard IT desktop support services.
  • Maintaining highly accurate records of hardware issued in the asset management database.
  • Refurbishing and cleansing equipment for reuse or recycling.
  • Working closely with our PMO function and assigned Project Managers, updating on task progress and escalating risks or dependencies where necessary.
  • Travel to sites across the UK will be required with mileage and subsistence paid and accommodation booked using our group travel booking solution.
What you’ll need to succeed
  • Essential hands-on IT support experience demonstrated high-level capability in desktop support within a Windows environment.
  • Confidently engage with users of varying technical skills in a fast-paced setting.
  • Exhibit extreme diligence and a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Effectively manage your workload to meet and deliver on agreed project rollout milestones.
  • Own a vehicle insured for business use, possess a full UK driving licence, and be willing to travel to sites across the UK.
