Job summary

Utilise Recruitment Ltd. is helping a well-established engineering consultancy in Liverpool to recruit a Senior Bridge Engineer for their city centre office.

You will lead bridge and civil structures projects across highways, transport and rail, guiding schemes from concept through detailed design to completion. The role offers hybrid working, a £50,000–£60,000 salary, 25 days leave, paid overtime, and ongoing training with clear progression.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Significant bridge engineering experience including design and assessment.
• Knowledge of DMRB, Eurocodes and MCHW.
• Experience producing and checking technical calculations, reports and design deliverables.
• Chartered status or progression towards chartership advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of bridge and civil structures projects across the full lifecycle.
• Undertake and review structural calculations, technical reports, drawings and specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, codes and client requirements.
• Carry out bridge inspections, assessments and technical evaluations.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders and contractors.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
• Support project planning, programme management and resource allocation.
• Contribute to business development activities and client engagement.
