Job summary

Kier Group in Salford is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join the Design Solutions Structures team within the Highways sector. You will lead bridge design, assessment and maintenance initiatives, collaborating with a cross-disciplinary team to deliver safe, enduring infrastructure.

You should be experienced with National design standards, able to manage projects to programme and budget, and committed to health and safety.

Qualifications

• 80% progression toward Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE, MIStructE or equivalent) is preferred.
• Experience in bridge design standards and analysis.
• Knowledge of National design standards and procedures.
• Committed to health and safety legislation, particularly CDM Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Produce and oversee bridge design, assessment and maintenance solutions within budget and timescales.
• Develop designs in line with National design standards and procedures.
• Prepare scheme documents and reports.
• Ensure designs comply with CDM Regulations and health and safety requirements.
• Mentor staff and report progress to clients.

We're looking for a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our Design Solutions Structures team based in Salford within the Highways sector. Kier Design are a highly regarded Tier 1 Contractor, with a 750 plus strong design consultancy team, recognised as a Top 30 employer on Glassdoor.

Location: Salford - Optimum House
Hours: 40 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Are you…

• Working towards (80% progression) or ideally Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE, MIStructE or equivalent)

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Bridge Engineer, you'll be working within the Design Solutions Structures team, supporting them in delivering bridge design, assessment and maintenance solutions.

Your day to day will include:

• Producing, developing and overseeing bridge design, assessment and maintenance solutions to meet client requirements within budget and timescale
• Developing and designing solutions in accordance with National design standards and procedures
• Producing and overseeing scheme documents and reports
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant health and safety legislation, particularly CDM Regulations
• Contributing to regular reporting of progress to clients and assisting in the mentoring and development of staff
