Job summary

The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Breast Reconstruction Specialist Nurse to join the Breast Services team. This senior leadership role leads autonomous practice across the reconstructive pathway, from planning to survivorship, and acts as clinical lead for breast reconstruction nursing.

You will drive high standards of care, service development, and patient experience in line with national best practice, working with a dynamic MDT.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration.
• Experience in breast surgery, plastic/reconstructive surgery, or oncology.
• Advanced assessment and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously within MDT and lead service development.
• Leadership and change-management experience? (Desirable)
• Commitment to developing high-quality breast reconstruction services.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist advice, education, and support to patients considering or undergoing breast reconstruction.
• Lead nurse-led clinics for pre- and post-operative assessment, education, and follow-up care.
• Offer holistic assessment and emotional support to patients and families.
• Coordinate complex care with breast and plastic surgeons, oncologists, and MDT.
• Develop and implement breast reconstruction pathways and patient information resources.
• Act as educator for nursing and medical staff within the breast service.
• Contribute to audit, research, and service improvement projects.
