Job summary

University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is seeking a Lead Breast Cancer Nurse Specialist to drive the breast oncology nursing service, working with breast oncologists, CNS teams and the MDT to improve patient care and outcomes.

The role includes coordinating nurse-led clinics, contributing to AOS/SDEC activity where needed, and leading quality-improvement initiatives across the cancer pathway.

Qualifications

• Significant demonstrable experience in Cancer/Breast care at a senior level.
• Proven ability to handle complex relationships within a multidisciplinary team.
• Current UK professional registration and cancer/palliative care specialism.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the Breast Oncology nursing service alongside clinicians and MDT.
• Provide a specialist nursing service for patients undergoing cancer care and treatment.
• Undertake nurse-led clinics including non-medical prescribing if appropriate.
• Act as expert resource and educator; lead audits and develop policies/procedures.
• Work as part of the wider cancer nurse specialist team; drive care-pathway improvements.
• Lead education and training across the organisation and support research or clinical trials.
