Job summary

Office Angels is seeking an experienced Practice Bookkeeper to join a respected accountancy firm. You will manage bookkeeping for a diverse portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals, sole traders and professional service clients, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

You will work closely with accountants, take ownership of VAT returns, reconciliations and year‑end prep, and use Xero as the primary cloud platform. A professional, client‑focussed approach is essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice.
• Strong VAT knowledge and reconciliation experience.
• Experience using Xero; Sage or CCH knowledge is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients.
• Process invoices, payments, receipts and financial transactions.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time.
• Reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies.
• Maintain records using cloud accounting software, primarily Xero.
• Support accountants with year‑end account preparation.
• Build strong relationships with clients and act as a trusted contact.
• Deliver a proactive and professional service at all times.
