Job summary

The Part-Time Finance People are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to work on a part-time, self-employed basis across Beds, Bucks and Herts. You will own the day-to-day bookkeeping, improve processes, and support the wider finance team to drive accuracy and profitability.

You will manage VAT submissions, credit control, and ensure robust financial records, with a proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior Bookkeeper.
• Strong experience preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Excellent credit control skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• A proactive, hands-on approach.
• Ability to work effectively alongside and support the Financial Controller.

Responsibilities

About The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to work with our clients on a part-time, self-employed basis. You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day bookkeeping function while providing valuable support to the wider finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in accuracy and wants to make a genuine commercial impact.

Alongside the core bookkeeping responsibilities, you’ll help improve financial processes, strengthen controls and drive greater efficiency, accuracy and visibility across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping activities
