Job summary

The Part-Time Finance People are seeking an experienced Part-Time Senior Bookkeeper to work with our clients on a self-employed basis in Beds, Bucks and Herts. You will take ownership of day-to-day bookkeeping and contribute to improving financial processes.

This role is 2 days per week, onsite, start ASAP, rate £22.50 per hour, self-employed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Bookkeeper.
• Strong experience preparing VAT returns.
• Excellent credit control skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• A proactive, hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping activities.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Manage credit control and cash collection.
• Oversee inventory management.
• Complete regular bank reconciliations.
• Manage purchase and sales ledgers.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Support month-end processes.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, controls and efficiency.
• Provide finance support to the Financial Controller as required.

About the Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to work with our clients on a part-time, self-employed basis.

You'll take ownership of the day-to-day bookkeeping function while providing valuable support to the wider finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in accuracy and wants to make a genuine commercial impact.

Alongside the core bookkeeping responsibilities, you'll help improve financial processes, strengthen controls and drive greater efficiency, accuracy and visibility across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities
