Job summary

GS Group is seeking a Controls Commissioning Engineer to deliver technical leadership across BMS and building controls projects in the United Kingdom. You will oversee engineering, programming, testing, commissioning and start-up of control systems and related electrical/mechanical equipment, from pre-construction through to client handover.

The role requires deep BMS knowledge, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a broader

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in BMS and building controls.
• Proficient in BMS software engineering and system modifications.
• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus or similar open protocols.
• Experience with commissioning, testing and fault-finding.
• Ability to develop or amend BMS graphics and documentation.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide technical support on complex BMS and controls projects.
• Attend pre-construction and design meetings to support project development.
• Review plant information, drawings and specs.
• Complete BMS software engineering, programming and system amendments.
• Commission, test and validate BMS/controls systems.
• Produce BMS graphics and operation descriptions.
• Support selection and specification of BMS components.
• Fault-find and resolve issues across controls and integrations.
• Produce commissioning documentation and handover information.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
