Clear Engineering Recruitment is seeking a Senior Controls/BMS Manager for the data centre sector. The role will drive commissioning excellence across large-scale, global infrastructure projects, leading global controls commissioning activities and providing SME guidance on BMS/BAS/EPMS/PLC/SCADA systems.

You will oversee planning, testing, and handover while ensuring safety compliance and high-quality delivery across multiple sites within a global program.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Control Systems, Mechatronics) preferred.
• 10+ years' experience in commissioning and/or controls engineering in complex infrastructure environments.
• Strong background in data centres or mission-critical facilities highly desirable.
• Experience leading commissioning teams in a matrix or multi-stakeholder environment.
• Project management experience or certification (or equivalent practical experience).

Responsibilities

• Lead global controls commissioning across live projects.
• Develop standardised commissioning strategies from planning to handover.
• SMEs for BMS/BAS/EPMS/PLC/SCADA systems.
• Ensure design intent matches operational performance.
• Oversee integration of mechanical and electrical plant.
• Drive commissioning planning, scheduling and tag management.
• Lead validation workshops and handover planning.
• Enforce safety systems: PTW, SSOW, LOTO.
• Manage OFCI/CFCI vendor interfaces in complex delivery.
• Create and review commissioning docs, test scripts.
• Oversee loop checks, point-to-point, functional testing.
• Manage punch lists and close-out processes.
• Support QA/QC to ensure quality-led commissioning.
• Drive data-driven decisions with tracking systems.
• Identify/mitigate risks in execution and handover.
• Provide leadership to commissioning teams.
