Job summary

Bradford Royal Infirmary's Blood Transfusion department seeks a Band 7 advanced post within Integrated Pathology Solutions to support the Cross-Site Service Lead and oversee technical performance, training and quality management. The role may involve work at any IPS laboratory, based at Bradford Royal Infirmary.

HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist and an IBMS Specialist Diploma in Haematology/Blood Transfusion (or equivalent) are required to apply.

Qualifications

• Significant discipline-specific experience and knowledge of BSQR and BCSH guidelines.
• Experience in NHS blood transfusion laboratory settings and testing.
• Experience training and assessing staff competency.
• Experience implementing new techniques and IT systems in pathology.
• Continuing professional development evidenced.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the Blood Transfusion department.
• Ensure technical performance, training and quality meet high standards.
• Maintain and improve the department's Quality Management System.
• Support accreditation, audits, incidents, and service development.
• Work across IPS labs, primarily based at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
