Airedale NHS Foundation Trust in Steeton, United Kingdom, seeks an Advanced Biomedical Scientist to oversee day-to-day Blood Transfusion Department operations as part of Integrated Pathology Solutions.

You will support the Cross-Site Service Lead, ensure technical excellence, lead staff training, and maintain QMS. Role requires HCPC registration, MSc in Blood Transfusion, and IBMS Fellowship eligibility where applicable.

Formación

• Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
• HCPC registration as Biomedical Scientist.
• MSc in Blood Transfusion Science or equivalent.
• Postgraduate qualification supporting IBMS Fellowship eligibility.

Responsabilidades

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Blood Transfusion Department.
• Support the Cross-Site Service Lead in delivering efficient and high-quality laboratory services.
• Ensure high standards of technical performance, staff training and quality management.
• Maintain and continually improve the department’s Quality Management System (QMS).
• Support accreditation, audits, incident investigations and service development.
• Contribute to implementing new techniques and technologies.
• Review and prepare SOPs in line with guidelines.
• Supervise, train and assess competency of staff.
• Work primarily at Bradford Royal Infirmary, with duties at other IPS labs as needed.
