Placements24 is seeking a Senior Blockchain Engineer for a leading FinTech client in Randburg, Gauteng. You will design, develop and deploy blockchain solutions, smart contracts and dApps, ensuring security and scalability across platforms such as Ethereum or similar.

You will mentor junior engineers, review code, collaborate with product and design teams, and stay current with DeFi trends, cryptography and cloud integration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development with 3+ years in blockchain.
• Proven experience building smart contracts and dApps on Ethereum or similar.
• Proficiency in Solidity and frameworks like Hardhat or Truffle.
• Strong knowledge of blockchain fundamentals, cryptography and DeFi basics.
• Backend experience with Node.js, Python or Go and databases.
• Familiarity with Web3 libraries (Web3.js, Ethers.js) and cloud platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years focused on blockchain development.
• Proven experience building and deploying smart contracts and dApps on platforms like Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, or similar.
• Proficiency in smart contract languages (e.g., Solidity) and relevant development frameworks (e.g., Hardhat, Truffle).
• Strong understanding of blockchain fundamentals, consensus algorithms, and cryptographic principles.
• Experience with backend development languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, Go) and database technologies.
• Familiarity with web3 libraries and tools (e.g., Web3.js, Ethers.js).
• Experience in the FinTech industry or with financial applications is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721) and DeFi protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
