About the Role

Our client, a dynamic technology firm focused on leveraging blockchain for enterprise solutions, is seeking a skilled Blockchain Systems Administrator to manage and maintain their growing blockchain infrastructure. This role is integral to ensuring the operational integrity, security, and performance of our client's blockchain networks and related systems. You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of blockchain nodes and services. This position is based in Randburg, Gauteng, ZA , offering a hybrid work arrangement that combines on-site presence with remote flexibility. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain blockchain nodes and associated software.
• Monitor network performance, availability, and security, implementing necessary adjustments.
• Perform regular system backups and implement disaster recovery plans.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to blockchain network operations.
• Manage user access and permissions for blockchain networks.
• Implement and enforce security protocols and best practices for the blockchain infrastructure.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment of new features.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in blockchain technology and system administration best practices.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, with significant exposure to blockchain technologies (e.g., private blockchains, public network nodes).
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems (Linux/Windows), and server hardware.
• Experience with blockchain node management and monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of security principles and best practices for IT infrastructure.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) for automation.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Relevant certifications in System Administration or IT infrastructure are advantageous.
