Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti is seeking a Senior Blast Project Engineer for its Protective Design and Security Practice in the UK. The role focuses on leading projects, performing explosive blast analyses, HVM design, and collaborating with a global team of security experts.

The successful candidate will have extensive civil/structural experience, Chartered status, strong analytical and report-writing skills, and the ability to travel. Vetting clearance will be required to operate in the UK market.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years' experience in civil/structural engineering.
• Chartered with Engineering Council and working towards Principal Membership of ROSES.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work beyond standard codes.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with a commercial mindset.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally and prepare concise reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects, managing scope, budgets, and resources.
• Liaise with clients and design teams to deliver outcomes.
• Undertake specialist blast and security analyses for buildings.
• Design hostile vehicle mitigation measures and assess risk.
• Attend and manage blast trials and related testing.
