Job summary

PureLab-UK in Central London is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Senior Biomedical Scientist to join their team of staff in the Blood Sciences department. This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week, with a flexible shift pattern and HCPC registration preferred.

Qualifications

• HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Histology
• Knowledge of quality management concepts
• Understanding of ISO 15189 and UKAS requirements
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation and LIMS
• Experience managing training programmes and CPD records
• Experience in Histology-related techniques (Tissue embedding, Microtomy, Digital Pathology, IHC, special stains)

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, analyse and report patient specimens using appropriate techniques.
• Undertake routine and complex laboratory investigations as trained.
• Provide scientific and technical advice to clinicians and healthcare professionals.
• Support quality management and accreditation requirements.
• Operate complex instrumentation safely and in line with procedures.
• Support induction, training and development of junior staff.
• Prioritise workload to meet turnaround times and service standards.
