Job summary

Circle Health Group in London is seeking a Senior Biomedical Scientist (Blood Sciences) to join their team and lead training within the Blood Sciences department. The role requires an HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist with strong leadership and technical expertise.

The post supports operational management of the Blood Sciences department as Training Lead, delivering accurate, timely diagnostic services with extended hours and weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist with at least 5 years in Histology.
• Strong leadership and training programme management experience.
• Understanding of ISO 15189 and UKAS accreditation principles.
• Ability to analyse, validate and authorise laboratory results.
• Experience with Histological techniques: embedding, microtomy, IHC, special stains.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, analyse and report patient specimens using appropriate techniques.
• Lead training, competency assessment and CPD for lab staff.
• Manage workload and ensure turnaround times and service standards.
• Support ISO 15189/UKAS compliance and quality management systems.
• Oversee induction and development of Biomedical Scientists and MLTs.
