General Overview of Role
The post-holder will be responsible for writing bid applications within Combat Stress. This will include:
- Supporting the development and delivery of Combat Stress's bid writing under the leadership of the Director of Fundraising (DoF) and Head of Trusts and Foundations (HTF), to support our role as a UK-wide provider of mental health services to veterans with complex needs.
- Contributing to various stages of a bid or tender process with guidance from DoF and HoTF.
- Supporting the team in managing service contracts.
- Ensuring compliance with the business development framework and governance processes, with support from DoF and HoTF.
Main Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Completing bid writing to support Combat Stress's business development, working with all departments to promote services and attract new business.
- Contributing to revenue generation by owning and supporting bid documents such as mobilisation or communication plans.
- Assessing the healthcare market to position the charity for growth and mitigate risks.
- Supporting the development, monitoring, and delivery of business development plans and processes aligned with strategy and targets.
- Collaborating across departments to adhere to bid or tender specifications.
- Working with the DoF to develop partnerships and support new service and business ventures.
- Managing the "bid/no bid" process, leading responses to ITTs, and overseeing bid submissions.
- Producing reports and proposals, including spreadsheets, for bids and funding applications.
- Reviewing and refining business development processes and templates to ensure they remain effective.
Contract Management
- Assisting with the development, monitoring, management, and review of contracts.
Communication
- Contributing to the charity's communication strategy internally and externally.
- Supporting the team on other projects as requested by the DoF.
General Responsibilities
- Ensuring data collection is current and compliant with legislation and charity policies, including incident reporting.
- Performing other reasonable duties as required within this role.
Risk Management
- Being risk-aware and able to identify day-to-day risks, reporting new risks to line management.
