Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Senior Bid Manager for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Luton. You will lead bid strategy, coordinate multi-disciplinary inputs, and drive win themes through governance gates, ensuring high-quality submissions.

You will manage cost build-ups, pricing, and risk across bids, working with sector VPs, capture leads, and engineering teams. Hybrid working with UK travel is available.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of bid management or business-winning experience.
• Proven track record of winning bids, with £20m+ values preferred.
• Experience leading cross-functional bid teams across multiple disciplines.
• Ability to coordinate inputs through governance gates and win themes.
• Strong commercial, project, and risk management skills.
• Capability to mentor teams in bid processes and tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead bid strategy development and win themes for competitive proposals.
• Coordinate inputs from functional areas across sectors and leaders.
• Manage bid governance, approvals, and colour reviews for quality submissions.
• Plan bid activities: Win Strategy, Kick-off, Answer Planning, WBS, reviews.
• Lead cost build-up and pricing activities with business functions.
• Identify risks and opportunities; develop mitigation plans post-contract award.
• Forecast resources and budgets for bids you lead.
• Write and shape compelling bid content with SMEs and capture team.
