Job summary

Carrington West is recruiting an experienced Bid Manager to own high-value tenders in the Energy sector. You will lead complex bids, develop strategies with multidisciplinary teams and drive competitive submissions to secure major infrastructure projects.

The role offers hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 from home) with flexibility around office locations across the UK and a competitive remuneration package.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Bid Manager within the Energy sector.
• Experience managing large, complex tenders and framework bids (£100m+).
• Strong end-to-end bid management understanding (PQQ, ITT, governance, submissions).
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage senior stakeholders.
• Excellent written communication, organisational and project management skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and bid strategy development.
• Experience in power transmission, distribution, substations, overhead lines or underground cabling is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the bid process from PQQ to final submission.
• Lead complex, high-value infrastructure bids and major framework opportunities (often £100m+).
• Develop bid strategies, win themes and compelling technical/commercial submissions.
• Create detailed storyboards and coordinate SMEs to produce high-quality responses.
• Manage bid programmes, deadlines and resources to deliver tender requirements.
• Ensure compliance with governance procedures and client tender requirements.
• Collaborate with estimating, engineering, commercial and operations teams to craft competitive solutions.
• Identify risks, opportunities and differentiators to strengthen submissions.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in bid processes, quality and success.
