Job description

We're looking for a Senior Bid Manager to join our team

Location: Leeds

Hours: 37.5, Monday to Friday

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Bid Manager, you'll work closely with pre-construction teams and other senior stakeholders to identify bid strategies early and manage the full bid lifecycle.

Your day-to-day will include:

1. Taking early involvement opportunities with clients to understand needs, identify opportunities, and tailor bid strategies.
2. Assisting in assembling bid teams, identifying relevant knowledge and expertise.
3. Arranging and chairing Bid Meetings with stakeholders to set strategy, timelines, and input obligations.
4. Driving engagement with subject matter experts for timely technical information.
5. Interrogating information from stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment with bid strategy.
6. Guiding, reviewing, and editing bid writing to ensure alignment with the bid vision.
7. Participating in feedback sessions with clients and coordinating tender queries and amendments.
8. Presenting confidently to internal and external stakeholders.
9. Seeking opportunities for learning about MMC methodology, industry, and technological advancements to keep Kier at the forefront of delivery.

What are we looking for?

This role is ideal if you have:

1. Experience managing bid services within a tier 1 construction environment.
2. Strong construction knowledge from roles in bidding, technical, or commercial areas within large contractors.
3. Understanding of framework procurement principles and current procurement practices.
4. Knowledge of best practice solutions, innovative ideas, and principles of Lean Construction and 5D cost planning (desirable).
5. Understanding of BIM, ability to read and assemble BIM models, and produce reports (desirable).
6. Membership of professional bodies like CIOB, RIBA, RICS, or ICE.
