Job summary

Fortescue Zero is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for Battery Prognostics in Kidlington, UK. The role focuses on turning complex battery data into reliable insights, validating analyses, and building scalable workflows for customers in automotive, energy storage and heavy industry.

You will work across cloud analytics and embedded battery management systems, leading investigations and mentoring others while collaborating with technical specialists to support decision making.

Qualifications

• Strong data science and analytical background in a technical discipline.
• Experience with Python for data analysis, modelling and pipelines.
• Experience with large-scale/complex technical datasets.
• Ability to validate data quality and quantify uncertainty.
• Proven ability to explain findings and limitations to technical stakeholders.
• Experience leading analytical investigations and mentoring others.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex analytical investigations turning customer data into evidence.
• Apply battery metrics and models to answer technical questions.
• Check data quality and identify gaps, bias and uncertainty.
• Explain strength and limitations of evidence to stakeholders.
• Build repeatable, well-documented workflows for scaling.
• Share insights with customer-facing teams and improve tools/methods.
• Review work and guide other analysts or data scientists.
