Grind is a coffee company born in London, expanding to Manchester! Since opening Shoreditch Grind in 2011, we've grown across London with cafés, trucks, and a state-of-the-art roastery. We're opening our first location outside London, in Manchester's city centre.

Role Overview

We seek an experienced Senior Barista to support our Head Baristas and lead a busy team, ensuring top-quality coffee, engaging customer service, and prompt service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting and developing a team
• Training in stock control
• Leadership skills
• Knowledge of coffee equipment and beans
• Attention to detail and passion for quality coffee

Equipment Knowledge

Familiarity with La Marzocco Linea PB machines and Mahlkonig E65/E80 grinders, including dialling in, maintenance, and shutdown procedures.

Responsibilities

• Dial in grinders for different blends to meet brand standards
• Train and support team development
• Support team operations
• Perfect milk stretching and advanced latte art
• Maintain cleanliness
• Report equipment issues
• Handle customer issues professionally
• Know current coffees, tasting notes, and recipes
• Manage stock levels and communicate shortages
• Ensure stock rotation and labeling per H&S procedures
• Perform weekly stock takes and cost analysis
• Understand coffee P&L, sales, and margins
• Maintain proper uniform
