The Guardian seeks a Senior Backend Software Developer to join the Apps Experience team on a 12 month fixed contract. You’ll work primarily in Scala and TypeScript, in AWS, within a cross-functional team and contribute to both product and engineering decisions.

You will collaborate closely with editorial and commercial colleagues, sharing knowledge and growing skills while helping shape the future of digital journalism.

Qualifications

• Experience with backend Scala or functional languages.
• Experience with frontend Typescript is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-based services.
• Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional, hybrid team.

Responsibilities
