Job summary

Logjec HR/Payroll Consultancy & Recruitment is seeking a backend engineer to join a health tech startup that recently won a major NHS contract. You will design and build scalable backend systems and APIs in Node.js/TypeScript, delivering production-grade, secure software for patients and clinicians.

This is a fully remote role with an option for a London Paddington office. Based in the UK, Ireland or Serbia, you will own projects from design through production and collaborate across engineering,

Qualifications

• Strong commercial Node.js and TypeScript experience.
• Experience building and scaling production backend systems.
• Strong API and distributed systems knowledge.
• Experience with relational databases.
• Product mindset with ownership in fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Production grade systems in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Robust APIs and distributed systems.
• Taking ownership of projects from initial design through to production.
• Improving security, testing and overall platform reliability.
• Using AI assisted development tools to speed up delivery.
• Working closely with engineering, product, design and medical teams.
