Job summary

Do Health in London is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own major backend features end-to-end, design, build, ship, monitor and iterate in a fast-moving health startup. You will shape architecture with the lead engineer, scale infrastructure across the UK and internationally, build production AI systems and work directly with product, design and clinical teams in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of backend experience with strong fundamentals.
• Experience at a startup or scale-up with ownership.
• Architectural thinking with end-to-end systems discussion.
• Track record of shipping reliable systems.
• Comfort with ambiguous decisions.
• Confident use of AI tools in workflow.

Responsibilities

• Own major backend features end-to-end - design, build, ship, monitor, iterate.
• Shape architecture alongside the lead.
• Scale our blood testing infrastructure across the UK and internationally.
• Build production AI systems - personalisation engines that act on longitudinal health data at scale.
• Improve reliability, observability, and the foundations that everything else depends on as the product grows.
• Work directly with product, design, and clinical teams.
