Coinbase, Inc. is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Backend to scale Advanced trading products for customers worldwide. You will own backend design and delivery using Golang and gRPC, driving high-performance, reliable services and cross-team collaboration.

You will lead experiments to optimize trading funnels, balance performance and maintainability, and push rapid feature delivery across time zones, with an emphasis on responsible AI usage and measurable efficiency gains.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience in production systems.
• Significant experience with Golang and gRPC.
• Hands-on with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Datadog.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures (Kafka, MQ).
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL and GraphQL/ETL pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design, development, and reliability of backend services using Golang and gRPC for worldwide trading experiences.
• Lead rapid experimentation and optimization of conversion funnels using data-driven priorities.
• Drive faster time-to-market by balancing performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Champion best practices in design, coding, testing, monitoring, and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers across time zones to deliver quarterly roadmaps with impact.
