Job summary

Saturn is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own substantial backend systems from design through to reliable production operation. You will work closely with product, AI engineers, domain experts and leadership to turn complex financial and regulatory problems into durable systems.

You will not wait for complete specifications; you will understand business goals, identify constraints, and make sound engineering trade-offs. Join Saturn to shape a coherent platform and powerful workflows.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building and shipping customer-facing software in production.
• Experience owning a substantial product area from ambiguous problems to adoption.
• Strong frontend depth in TypeScript and modern web frameworks.
• Full-stack capability with willingness to work across the system.
• Experience contributing to frontend architecture and shared foundations.
• Decision making without complete specifications with clear trade-offs.
• Strong product judgment and ability to explain trade-offs.
• Ability to work with design while maintaining technical ownership.
• Evidence of improving performance, accessibility and interaction quality.
• Experience building interfaces around complex data, workflows or permissions.
• Experience investigating production issues and translating findings into product improvements.
• Ability to scope and deliver work measured in months from a business objective.
• Strong written communication documenting product and technical reasoning.
• Experience improving standards across code review, testing, release and client-facing quality.
• Comfort owning decisions with incomplete information and deadlines.
• Experience mentoring engineers and improving team quality.
• Experience working at startup pace with strong judgement.
