Job summary

Taptap Send is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing engineering team. You will build and scale backend third-party integration systems supporting remittance flows across countries, working closely with Product, Operations, and Customer Support to deliver reliable and secure services.

You will work with React Native/TypeScript frontend, a Kotlin/JVM backend, PostgreSQL database, and AWS infrastructure managed with Terraform and Ansible.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of backend development experience.
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java/JVM.
• Strong PostgreSQL knowledge.
• Experience with AWS services (S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda).
• Experience building and maintaining integrations with third-party APIs.
• Ability to design scalable backend architecture and ensure reliability.

Responsibilities

• Build out unified backend interfaces for third-party payment integrations.
• Own backend system architecture and implementation.
• Develop performant, secure data pipelines and flows.
• Collaborate with product, ops, and support teams to ship features.
• Iterate and deliver estimates with stakeholders.
