Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong backend development experience using Java or another modern backend language.
• Designing RESTful APIs and distributed backend systems.
• SQL databases and data modelling.
• System integration and enterprise application development.
• Event-driven architectures and messaging technologies.
• CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and modern development practices.
• Making sound technical decisions and working through ambiguous requirements.
• Mentoring engineers and leading technical delivery.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing scalable backend services and APIs
• Building integrations with enterprise systems, data platforms and third‑party applications
• Making architectural decisions around backend services and data flows
• Implementing event‑driven and real-time integration patterns where appropriate
• Writing clean, maintainable, well‑tested code using modern engineering practices
• Improving CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and platform observability
• Working closely with engineers, product specialists, project managers and customer stakeholders
• Mentoring developers and helping raise engineering standards across the team
