Job summary

PhysicsX is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the AI Workbench platform. You will design distributed systems and APIs for large-scale simulations, owning work that sits between AI platforms and infrastructure teams.

The role emphasizes mentoring, hands-on coding, and shaping architecture in a fast-moving environment. You will collaborate with data scientists and engineers, deploying across multiple environments including cloud and on‑prem.

Qualifications

• Strong Kubernetes experience with CRDs, Operators, and Helm/ArgoCD.
• Experience using Go; also comfortable with Python and Rust.
• Experience deploying services in multiple production environments.
• ML platform background or prior data science experience.
• Ability to mentor engineers and operate at senior/staff level.
• Comfort with ambiguity and startup mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design and build distributed systems, services, and APIs for high dimensional simulation data across the ML lifecycle.
• Own end-to-end work between AI Workbench and infrastructure teams.
• Build pipelines for data ingestion and processing for active learning loops.
• Architect storage solutions, data warehouses, and data lakes for complex workloads.
• Deploy and support services across cloud, on-prem, and air-gapped environments.
• Define system architecture with trade-offs in performance, reliability, and cost.
• Write Technical Decision Records and contribute to Technology Radar reviews.
• Mentor engineers and stay hands-on with coding.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders across teams.
