PhysicsX, a deep-tech company building AI-driven simulation software, seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the AI Workbench platform. You will design distributed systems, own end-to-end work, and mentor engineers while staying hands-on with code in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

The role emphasizes strong Kubernetes skills, Go and Python expertise, and ML platform experience, with hybrid work from our London-area team and remote flexibility.

Qualifications

• Strong Kubernetes experience including CRDs, Operators, Helm or ArgoCD.
• Strong command of Go with working knowledge of Python; Rust is valued.
• ML platform background or prior data science experience.
• Intellectual curiosity and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Design and build distributed systems, services, and APIs for high dimensional simulation data across the ML lifecycle.
• Own end-to-end work in the space between AIWB platform and infrastructure teams.
• Build tools to create automated pipelines for data ingestion and processing.
• Architect/storage integration for complex simulations and deep learning workloads.
• Deploy and support services across cloud, on-premises, and air-gapped environments.
• Define system architecture and trade-offs for performance and reliability.
• Document Technical Decisions and contribute to Technology Radar.
• Mentor engineers across the team and stay hands-on with code.
