Job summary

Blockchain.com is seeking a Back-End Engineer in London to build and operate the trading platform’s backend services. You will work on order management, market data processing, and real-time APIs, collaborating with product, frontend, and trading teams.

The role emphasizes high availability, low latency, and scalable systems. In-office presence four days per week with a flexible policy for remote work, and meaningful equity on offer.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend services using Kotlin and/or Python.
• Strong background in designing REST APIs and real-time streaming (WebSockets, etc.).
• Working knowledge of SQL and integrating with multiple services.
• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes and cloud environments (AWS).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services powering trading products.
• Develop order management, market data processing, and trade lifecycle workflows.
• Build REST APIs and WebSocket streams for real-time data.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, and trading teams to enable new features.
• Ensure high availability, latency optimization, observability, and testing.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and share knowledge.
