Job summary

Freetrade is expanding its Backend Engineering squad in a hybrid working model with 3 days in-office and 2 days from home. We’re seeking a Software Engineer with 2+ years of professional experience to build a scalable backend on Node.js/Typescript, using Google Cloud Platform and PostgreSQL, while shaping the investor-facing platform for thousands daily.

You will collaborate with Product and other engineers, own features end-to-end, and contribute to a culture of quality, curiosity, and delivery

Qualifications

• At least 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Collaborate openly and share knowledge with teammates.
• Maintain high standards of code quality and be receptive to feedback.
• Able to navigate complex problems and know when to loop in others.
• Genuine interest in the world of investments.
• Keep up-to-date with technology trends and apply good engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality software within agreed timelines addressing complex problems.
• Deliver scalable and maintainable solutions while balancing trade-offs.
• Understand core features and KPIs and work with Product Manager to drive development.
• Be comfortable in an on-call environment and respond to high-priority issues.
